SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT AND LIVING LABS: Open and User-driven Innovation in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainability – International Conference Centre, Geneva, 21 to 24 August 2018
Open Living Lab Days (OLLD) is the annual summit of the worldwide Living Lab community. Within OLLD18 the role of citizens, open innovation and the potential of Living Labs in the context of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development are exploring and debating. High level speakers from the United Nations, the European Union and local and regional governments discussed policy developments. 35 research and innovation papers on the topic of Living Lab development were presented to the participants.
INTENSSS-PA participated successfully in the OLLD 2018 event organized by the ENOLL network in Geneva from 21 to 24 August.
An innovation paper titled “Evaluating the Performance of the Regional Living Lab Concept on Integrated Sustainable Energy Planning”, was presented on the 23rd August. The paper was nominated among 11 more innovation papers for the Veli-Pekka Niitamo Prize. OpenLivingLab Days Conference Proceedings are now available in Zenodo, CERN’s open source free repository.

On August 23th INTENSSS-PA organized with TOGETHER project and the Energy Lab of HES-SO University the workshop “Technology, Goal setting and Behavioural nudges: 1000 ways to save energy”. This workshop was attended by 25 people, including experts in the energy field. The workshop exploited the techniques of “serious gaming” and actively involved the participants.
On August 24th INTENSSS-PA was presented in the workshop entitled “Living Labs, Regional Development, TALIA Vision“. The workshop brought together six examples of Living Labs working concretely on the ground at the regional level and in different areas of Europe– to share experiences, understand impact paths, and explore opportunities for new forms of collaboration within the ENoLL network.
